Tea company to be taken over?
Williamson Tea – Does anybody foresee significant price changes at the exchange with this impending acquisition?
Dyer & Blair – Good to see them expand into Uganda and Rwanda, hopefully they are not spreading unethical practices there
KQ – Stumbled on some article bad on them. I concur with the sentiments especially about the hostile environment at the Airport
DSTV – Pure monopoly – I wonder if they could make any money in Kenya without the controversial deal on English Premier League. Inclusion of NTV among their channels quite welcome. Hoping Oxygen TV gives them adequate compe – bring then down to earth
Banks – you are quite a resource
Another great property site is http://www.property.co.ke/ and for real estate investment http://www.acp-africa.com/
Going back to your stamp buying and P.O experience, how do you think Postal Corporation (Posta) will react/step up, to the introduction of G4S for private postal services? Hopefully the PCK Act is changed or ICT Bill passed soon!
most property sites in kenya suck – ok not most all. i dont know but it sstrikes me as odd that alot of kenyan businesses owith websites or web base d businesses dont really understand the web a marketing and sells tool
Ryan’s investing in Africa website was mentioned in this past weekend’s Barron edition. The article was titled “Finding Riches on the New Frontier”.
KQ was mentioned in passing. With a P/E of 12 and an impressive growth rate of 132%.
The article also featured an exchange traded fund (EZA) that trades on the AMEX for the JSE stocks.

Am used to some not so good websites from back home but i agree with Mitzy that http://www.property.co.ke is simply a great property website for anyone looking for real estate in Kenya. And they seem to have all the big realtors that i know, Villacare (great for housing developments), HassConsult, Regent Management, Lloyd Masika (mostly commercial)and over 30 others when i counted last. KCB Simba Villas that bankelele mentioned are showcased in spectacular fashion (over 20 photos of the houses) on the site. I have made an enquiry to the agents and wait to get more details. For kenyan property, i think http://www.property.co.ke is the way to go.
Talking of property websites, I saw a new one — zuuri.com. It’s free to place an ad. I think it is for people who are selling property themselves without an agent. It’s a good idea I think. they have a place where you can place a property wanted ad.
